As some of you know, I had issues the other day with my T2, it started like a bag of spanners and smoked like a pig, white stinky smoke,
Rick and others said injector issues, so I asked my mate up the garage to cast an eye over it, he plugged his reader in and it came up with injector timing fault, he also suggested trying injector cleaner as the problem had come on so suddenly.
I put a £3 pot of cleaner in and went for a spin, the smoke soon cleared and the 3.0 was running as sweet as normal, no EMl light either.
I have just been out and tried it this morning, cold start, and it fired up with no sign of smoke.
So a £3 fix and a very happy firebobby :thumb2:thumb2

Carplan injector cleaner, I got it from Morrisons :thumb2
With the reduction of the sulphur in diesel as natural lubricant, I wonder if it may be worth considering long term use of 2 stroke oil as an additive....?

Did you just put it into the diesel tank, if so how much diesel was in it?

Our picasso is a bit lumpy when cold, and redex injector cleaner hasn't helped.
Note, the 1.6 hdi diesel engine has glow plugs but these don't come on, unless the outside temperature falls below 0c... or so they say.:nenau

It is not recommended to put two stroke oil into a hdi engine, although I now use this in the Mav.

I already add 2 stroke oil but I must change my fuel filter as it's getting on.

With that amount of diesel in it would not have reached the injectors after a mile!! I could have been poor quality fuel :nenau
 
Best way clean your injectors is to do a fuel filter change and dump the whole bottle of cleaner in the new filter before refit.
Goes like stink afterwards.

BP diesel plus some 2 stroke, nothing else.
All I know is it was smoking like a pig and running very poorly before I added the cleaner, a fault reader confirmed injector issues.
Now it's running like it did before.
It did something.

Just the fuel filter change / new filter with injector cleaner thing. It does indeed go like stink afterwards (briefly).
Unfortunately, had no access to jet A...
