20% harder but no extra inches Doug so man up and get some 3" springs :naughty

How much are they?... I paid £144 for my 80mm lift Trail masters.

60 squids, I don't know why I thought they were 2" lift. What do you think of trail masters?, are those the ones that jimny bits sell?, was on their site looking at 2" lift ones.

I keep changing my mind man, standard or 2" lift, I thought those were 2" lift for some reason:doh, I'm going crazy (again) I think I've made up my mind then I have doubts

If the springs are harder, when the weight of the truck is on them, they won't compress as much, so the truck will sit higher. Simples.. But by how much... depends. Are the swb or lwb springs ?
Some have fitted standard lwb springs in a swb, and obtained some lift, again less weight on them, so truck sits higher.

I have a lwb but I don't know if those springs are swb or lwb, I do want a bit more height but I'm not sure if 2" would be too much, I reckon the original is sagging half an inch to an inch so could end up being a 3" lift. However I do not want to buy either standard or lift springs and then want to change them, I need to find the standard height measurements and get my tape measure out :thumb2

On a seperate topic rustic could you re-post that dvla thing you put up a short while back, I wanted to wind somebody up with it the other day but I could not find it :lol :thumbs

I fitted LWB springs to my SWB and gained an extra 1/2" at best.

I got my 2" Lift Springs from Jimnybits around Christmas last year and they are great :naughty

The trail master ones are actually longer than the standard ones, so its not just a case of them being harder. I was also told they are also tempered so they are slightly softer at the top, and get harder the more they are compressed.

In answer to your other questions, they were from Jimnybits, and I can't say I notice a huge difference in the ride, other than the height. For the caravan I just had to drop the towball from the top holes on the towbar to the lower holes. Tows a dream with the new springs, much less caravan wagging the car, not that there was much of it before.

Dont forget that the 20% stronger ones are poo off road. They inhibit flex quite a bit. Correctly rated springs make a massive difference off road, too hard = too stiff=no flexi

So proper lift springs is the way to go, what pete says makes perfect sense.
I would like to buy from jimny bits but I'll probably use their ebay store, I think it's a bit cheaper but which springs, there are two types but only obvious difference is price, which ones do you have Zac? The trail master ones sound very good with varied spring rate.

I didn't go for the cheaper ones, when I read that they were not wheel base specific... Then when I read about a lot of the cheap ones being just a generic spring not really "designed" for the car, I went right off them, specifically for the reasons Makeitfit says...

I think if you are going to go to all the expense and work of changing them, you might as well pay just a bit more, and put the proper ones specifically designed to fit the LWB T2, so either replace with proper OEM t2 ones, or go for the lifted Trail Master ones. I think that is why mine still tows so well despite being 3" higher on Suspension and 2" higher on the body.

OK then I'll sell you mine for £70 and ill buy a set of 3"
