Ok,

So this has cropped up a couple of times now on the forum about creeking rear diff's , and the solution always seems to be to change the rear diff oil.

I change all my filters (oil, air, diesel) and engine oil ever 6k (or 12 months) and always check all my oil levels on a regular basis.... but how often should the LSD oil be changed - is it specified in the service manual (I aint got one!)???

Last Terrano had it changed at 60k... current one's just had a change at 28k!

According to the manual the LSD oil should be changed every 120,000 kilometres or 72,000 miles or after 72 months...whichever comes first.

So not exactly regular maintenance item :)
