Hi all, been searching threads trying to find a solution to my latest terrano problem. When I finished work the other night I tried unlock my van with the button on the key but nothing happened. My first thought was that the battery in the fob must be dead so I opened it with the key in the door (setting off the alarm in the process until I put the key in the ignition:doh). However when I got home I realised that I can still disable the alarm with the keyfob before opening it with the key.

So, I can get in the drivers door but can't open the passenger side or tail door from the inside either. When I press the lock switch on the door beside the window switches the door lock relay (behind the panel below the bonnet release) can be heard clicking so theres power to it. Though sometimes theres like a strange noise comes from the timer unit marked CONT-TIME above the fuses. I understand this controls lots of functions including lights on buzzer and interior lights etc. but they all seem to be working as normal.

Has anybody had to replace the timer unit on their car for this reason or can anybody point me in the right direction to solving this problem?

Stumped at the first hurdle. It says "NOTE: Before entering diagnostic mode, make sure the vehicle is fully unlocked, the ignition is switched off and the hazard switch is off." That's the problem I can't get it unlocked and this seems to be preventing it entering diagnostic mode:nenau
