Looking back this seems to be a fairly common area of problems, but I can't find anyone with the same combinations of locking oddity. I guess the TCU is at fault and probably down to bad connections, but I'm not too sure where the TCU is or how to get to it!

When I unlock with the key fob I get only the drivers door unlocked. Tried the unlock again in case this is a double button press thing but still nothing more opens.

When I lock the car with the remote, the drivers door locks itself, non of the others lock if I have manually unlocked them from inside.

If I now unlock again, the drivers door unlocks and any others that were still unlocked, lock themselves.

Final lock request from remote locks the drivers door and I know the vehicle is secured.

Generally less annoying than the fan and water ingress but still bugging - any suggestions?

Cheers.

from inside the car if you lock the drivers door with the lever near the opening lever, do all the doors lock and unlock without fail? Rick

I will not be about am, if they do not lock/unlock, then remove the door card and checkout the relay on the drivers door lock as I think this sends the signal to the other doors, but memory fails so I could be wrong, Rick

Ah, the drivers door results in identical behaviour so I guess I need to go door digging - that might have to wait for a bit as I'm wary of dropping the glass or something in the process!

Got a mate who's handy in this area, might try and borrow him soon.

Cheers.

No glass to drop, On my TD it had central locking, from the driver's door either inside or Via the driver's door Key.
When I fitted a remote alarm, I also fitted a door lock solenoid to the driver's door lock, so activating the remote lock, activated this solenoid, as a result it then locked all doors.

SO: as said before, the contact for locking the other doors "Probably" comes off the driver's door.

Shouldn't take too long to resolve.
Best regards,
Rustic.

I don't know if this is any help but the locking control unit is behind the right hand kick pannel. It's quite well hidden. Mines a 1993 slx

Finally got round to digging into the door today and fixed my drivers window (connector to the relay unit had dry joints, quick soldering fix) but sadly I couldn't fix the central locking. 96, you're correct, the relay is tucked up under the RH kick panel and I now believe it is faulty, any one breaking up got a spare one - markings are:

Door Lock Timer
28450 -0f000

Cheers!
