Hi All,
I would like to fit a multichanger under the passenger seat (T Reg 5 seat Terrano) i believe that is where the factory fit would have been placed. The cassette player fitted is marked as for multichanger connectable.
That said where would the connectors/cable for the multiplayer be found, i imagine that the cassette player end would be fitted or lay very close at least, my main question is for the other end, i imagine under the passenger seat carpet somewhere? can anybody let me know its exact location, is a cable prefitted anyway?
Advice gratefully received. :?

I think the factory fit cd changer use to fit in the compartment bellow the ash tray it is a front loader changer.
If you go for a changer under the seat it will have to be compatible with the radio i.e. Panasonic radio needs a Panasonic changer, there are interfaces available to convert some makes of changer to work with certain radios but not sure what is fitted in yours.

on my 95 mistral i put my pioneer 12 changer under that seat it was awkward as heater vent was in way so pulled it off to let me screw it through floor i hid the wires behind trim and under the carpet there was no factory wiring there but it was import and slightly older i havent bothered putting it in maverick so dont know if it has any wiring

I think ya man means the nissan branded one, that works with the Nissan branded radio, the oversize jobbie that has the hazard switch in it.

My wifes 01 and my 03 both have the same head (as described above) but hers is an "S" and has no changer, whilst mine is an "SE" and has one under the drivers seat.

Howver I don't think hers has the wiring, I checked and couldn't find it. So, assuming yours has not had it's changer removed, I'm guessing yours won't have the wiring either.

The only way to know for sure is pull out the seat and look. I didn't bother, if you do, and indeed find the cables there, let Me know please.

Thanks all for your inputs, i guess that i will just have to delve under the seat, have a root roud and see what i can find, or not.
I will report back later on my findings. 8)
cheers again

Mine is an 02 plate with the double din radio (Nissan) and there was no lead so got an Alpine 6 cd multi and it came with the lead and conversion box which fitted in below the radio when you removed it and was no bother to fit and as I already had the dvd player fitted below the pass seat I mounted the cd below the driver but didnt put it on the floor but with a bit of a fiddle managed to get the mountings on the seat itself so that it slides back and fore with the seat and is not so suseptible to getting kicked when the seat is hard back or fully forward!

Had a look for said cable/harness nothing found, so I will have to route one my self, thanks all for the hints tips and info.

um, not sure if its a bit late, ive a T2 1999.. the cd auto changers under my DRIVERS SEAT. mine dont work, been told clean it out.. se sill be soon...

Zippy,
Thanks for replying, as you have guessed my problem has long been sorted but again thanks anyway.
All the best :p

Just a quick tip about putting electrical gadgets under your seat.
Make sure when you do a water crossing that the vehicle doesn't leak

Yes it does happen.
