This may sound a strange question, but i'm going to put my old CB in my T2 & not sure where would be the best place to mount it as the cuby hole in front of the gear sticks at the bottom of the dash has my volt meter fitted into it ( got to keep eye on voltage as the sound system sucks the juice) & the power switch for my neons which i've yet to fit.
So I thourght who better to ask than you lot

Mine is mounted in the mentioned hole in front of gearsticks.. Best idea is to junk the mega soundsystem as this wont help you off road or on.. rip out voltmeter, bin neons... Problem solved...

I can't do that    It's took me years to save up for the system after my 2k competion system got nicked  Plus it massarges the back nicely  Was thinking of mounting it on a metal bracket & fixing the to multi lock bracket as the lock has been took out before I got it. The radio would sit along the centre console in the foot well. Do you think this would work ok :? Seat never goses forward as i'm 6ft

I found as i am 6 foot 4. puting the cb on the side of the centre consul blocked my leg room and made it very uncomfortable. puting it on the passenger side made it dangerous to change channel as have to look into the footwell.. it should work where ever you put it but i would say it is very much trial and error..

Cheers  I just thourght i'd ask, I think i'll have to spend the whole day in the truck to work it out fully   as the kids are breaking up from school next friday

i remember a cb that had like a remote facia you could hide big bulky bits and just facsia sat somwhere up down on mike

Put your voltmeter and switch into the ashtray hole, or can't you get one of those tri colour led voltage indicators then you can put it anywhere. Then put cb in "cubby hole". Better option still is get a mistral stereo mount for the cubby hole then you can use a din facia mount for the cb, if ones available.

Mine is mounted on a piece of mdf ,which is shaped the same as the small shelf on the passanger dash side above glovebox .Dinky

In the Mav mines between the seat and the cubby box, wedged in. All the controls are on the mike so need to look down.

Mine is mounted on the left hand side of the centre console, on the passenger side. As per CM, I hav channel controls on mike, so don't need to reach down to the CB controls that often.

Mine is in the garage as someone has nicked the Antenna off my roof.

My set is dead at mo, so I have a spare antenna if you need it.

my plan as i believe davemud and others , sorry memory failure tubbs mate.

was to mount with velcro onto to top of dash basically along side where tomtom hangs from screen. realisticaly will only see use on laning trips or rallies anyway but atleast not having to look down to see display.

So very nice to see you back on line, even if only for a short while matey. Hope you back permanantly soon.

What's the status regarding Licences for CB radios ?

From my CB days, I know if you can only receive, you don't need a Licence, but if you have equipment that can transmit then you do..
Certainly the CB's are not as popular as they used to be, but I could have done with one last Friday when on the M1/M18 just to find out how long that queue really was, as it happened I came off at the next junction and went down the lanes.. 8O
