Hi all  I keep getting told that the mic for my Midland 98 is very quiet  So i'm thinking of wiring up my old Altai DM-315E echo power mic which has always been great & I don't have to hold it when driving as I just need to key the button when it's on the dash to talk
My prob is i'm not sure how to wire it up for the Midland 98 as this has channel control on the standard mic & has a 6 pin plug. Does anyone know of a site or someone I could contact to find out as I don't want to blow up my rig
Any help most geatfull 8)

Sweety Save money let D do the talking.

D don't like talking on the CB  I had a look on Thunderpoll's web site & think I may have found what I need on there so will let you know if it works out or I blow up my rig

cb mike

hi sweety.
i slung all my wiring diagrams years ago . but i regulaly used to just swap about till i got them working .
are they both the same kind of plug with the screw holding the case together then a locking ring to hold socket to CB.
take the back of the mike`s find what colour the mike`s key wiring is .make a note .
thats 2 sorted .
draw a diagram make sure its correct BEFORE YOU DISCONECT ANYTHING.

Well at last have managed to get my old power mic working -groovy- -groovy- -groovy- I ended up phoning Birtley CB Services in Washington (0191 4920681) & the chap on the other end of the phone was great, he told me straight away which wire had to go where  Whilst talking to the chap I found out why my stanard mic is so quiet, he said he has come across a lot of Midland CB's that need to have the audio out put turning up so when my warranty runs out i'll be going to see him to have it done
I would also like to thank Cosmic for all the head scratching he did to tring to help me out -cheers- -cheers- -cheers-

Anytime m8,glad you got it sorted, couldn't really do much without getting my hands on it!!
