id have thought so, im talking about everything above plus the cross members etc...actually its a good point, do i spray the lot minus exhaust, or do i need to be more selective in what i treat??

as Larson suggests, im going to put a tarpaulin down to catch any over spray/leaks of waxoyl...!

hi clivvy
to help you with mounting the ramps once you have carpeted them or what ever you need to do .;)
1)put wheels just touching ramps.
(make sure you centralise them to the tyres)
2)Place a stick where you can see it from drivers seat.
3)measure how far you need to drive up ramps .
4)get a second stick measure distance from first stick .
5)place second stick on mark.
6)now you know how far to reverse before FALLING OFF RAMP.:doh
7)place a chunk of wood or half brick at far end of ramp .
drive steady until you touch the brick/chunk of wood.
you may find it easy`r to use HAND brake to control braking while going UP OR DOWN rather than foot brake .
ps carpet or sack ect placed under ramp will stop them sliding.

pps.as far as ramps being strong enough if they are made of 3/4"angle iron with cross bars and support braces rather than the type that have sheet steel to drive up.
They will be able to withstand 2 ton easy .
