Just wondering is there any tweaks you can do with the tdi engine to get a bit more power out of it mainly want it for towing not to worried if mpg drops a little. It's a 2.7tdi


Post titles opposed to say can you get more power out the t2 tdi these phone apps are crap
 
MAF amp or Tunit chip are bolt on electrickery gizmos , then there's a full remap etc
 
Can you play with turbo ie run a bit more pressure etc

not low down you can't, which is where you want it for towing, Maf amp is cheap and gives a good low down boost, £50 from Rayf on here, Rick
 
Yes but you'll need more fuel too, hence a remap, tunit or maf amp
 
I forgot no screw on the pump like the ford transit smoked like a pig but it shifted
 
One mod i've done on both of my T2's is replace the air filter with a K&N one that fits into the standard air box & have gained a little more power but much better throttle response & a couple of extra mpg back:thumbs might be worth cleaning the filter in the banjo bolt on the fuel pump aswell as again I gained better throttle response & it seems to be pulling much better now. Both are cheap or free mods
 
Have to say because I run on veg it can hold back quite bad it had a new filter so will check the filter on the pump

had his t2 done and his new tintent is a big beast :eek:

I sold my LPG combo to get a volvo v40 that runs pure veg can say saving a bomb on fuel my t2 tho does not like veg to much it will run 20 liters diesel and 40 liters veg but is a little hesitant around 50mph and misfires as well at that
 
Must be other issues then. I've run mine on neat veg and probs. Run bio now with loads of mods inc LPG. Goes like stink :naughty

Mine was full to the brim today with veg then later filled up with 8 quids worth of diesel :lol

I've been running nest or v close to neat for months. Cold starting harder, that's it.
 
Pre TDI injector pump and accelerator cable is the best thing you can do...gets rid of all the electronics and the best bit...If you run an auto trans the T.P.S is still on the accelerator pedal not the pump so the trans still shifts when it is supposed to....just got to give it a 5 volt feed.
 
I suspect on mine it could be the banjo on top of pump that the filter is a little blocked. No air in the system when it's on diesel it runs fine no problems

What type of nest was it, a Robin's nest is quite small and dainty, where as, a rook or crows nest is much larger and will cause problems :lol
 
Will be interesting to see the result. Do the same symptoms still occur on neat diesel?
