i htnk a better bet would be a custm fit of an other intercooler, there is a company called allisport who had pics of a conversion on there site. It was fitted in front of the radiator.

though i was told that without turbo mods to go with it, the intercooler alone would't do much :nenau

having said all that the difference between a 2.7 tdi and the 2.7 td is immidiately noticable :thumbs

heres the site can't find the pics though http://www.allisport.com

easy to fit tdi parts main problem is the scoop on the bonnet as tdi wont fit

ask the bloke who breaks them on here your looking at around 50quid id expect but much cheeper than after market intercooler.

or you could go shogun parts these have fans too . or look at the r3m set up its in the wheel arch so the wheel moves air about like fanned and its front facing. parts will be more expensive there is a nissan breakers in wales who will have the r3m parts

ok if its just the bonnet scoop that is a problem i can sort that out i just needed to know if all the intercooler will fit on & is it worth doing & if anything else would need changing or doing to make it work

Wouldnt bother, i dont think its needed on Mk1's :thumbs
Play with boost, exhaust & fueling :naughty :thumbs

thanks for the advise the reason i asked about the intercooler is i was thinking it might be a bolt on mod to give a bit more power as im no mechanic & would not know how to go about tweeking boost & fueling :thumbs

intercooler is cheaper than the exhaust mod

but id start with intercooler then tweek the boost and fuel and forget the exhaust

The exhaust cost £90's in total all in & the fueling & boost cost time :thumbs
As ya know, i looked at a front mount n then a top mmount but for figures compared to on / off road i dont think its worth it :thumbs

Adz,could you please explain the exhaust mod?.Has anyone done a perf' tuning guide for the non intercooled motor on here?.

looks like ive got em all thinking now lol happy days :augie:augie:augie

The TD tuning is easier and actually more fruitful than the TDI, as if you know what you are upto with the pump, can get pretty big results.

For any amount of adjustment a front mount intercooler is the starting point, along with boost measurement and adjustment.

The pump will open up nicely, and you'll soon have a transformed truck.

pete's exhaust was in the regions of £350 a lot of dosh with no extra performance on its own.

intercooler is peanuts and easy diy fit with results

Ah but my exhaust is g'teed for life and there for the modded turbo:naughty
Not cheap but part of the bigger picture:thumbs
