Hi the thing giving me a problem is the thing on side of engine
just below intercoller on right hand side think it is breather of some kind,
hose goes down to sump it is leaking oil any help .

Have you tried to add a photo, As you have "img img" after your post?.

Hi norrie  if you could put your vehicle details into you sig then it'll help us know what type of truck you drive.
At a pure gues from what you have said it sounds like you have a T2 TDI :?: if i'm right it sounds like the oil breater catch tank & Nissan will charge you the lovely sum of £180 for a new one 8O  Mine was feeding oil into the turbo so I fitted another oil catch tank I got off ebay thanks to Scooters help :p

hi sounds like the oil breater catch tank i have tryed to ad photo

jeep 2000 lwb tdi hope this helps is there a download for what
you did to over come having to go to nissan thanks

Hi norrie I can email you photo's of what I have done if it'll help but I was wondering where about is it leaking eg from the top, bottom, one of the pipe fitting etc :? You may be able to glue the leak as I managed to do when I stripped mine down & the top part wouldn't stop on

hi the photos would be great it is cracked and open from top
to bottom do you buypass it all together have had it off and
tryed to repair it but keeps leaking wait for the photos before
i try enything else cant aford about £180 just know.

Hi norrie  before you go sending money on a new oil catch tank I would give this a go as it may save you some cash  I would try gluing the crack with some epoxy resin glue or try some of the metal bodge you can get for repairing oil drums etc.
If you do have to go down the replacement route I would go for some thing like this

you could take the feed from the rocker cover into 1 of the top fittings & use the othe 1 to feed into the inlet turbo pipe or fit a breather to it & block up the hole in the turbo pipe. Then use the bottom fixing to go back to the sump  You will prob need to fit reducers (I had to) for the pipe work which I got from my local garden centre in the pond section & they have worked great :smile:you will prob find you will have to mount the tank on the N/S of the engine bay next to your fuel filter like I had to.
If you could send me a PM with your email address I'll send you some photo's of what I did
