Mine's the other way round, bottom of tyre that touches floor is pointing inwards and top of tyre outwards

Brilliant I'll look at doing this next week and takle a peek at the manual

Is it a pig of a job? Maybe I could sell what I remove to Stinka lol

It's a piece of piss

Slacken both bolts off about 3 full turns, do them one at a time tho so the whole arm doesn't drop away from bolt holes

Also support with jack under bottom ball joint

Weird that u have positive after lift

Tbh there will only be one 3 ish mm washer in there so u may not be able to take any out, u might have to swap them for thinner washers

No big deal but get some WD40 on the bolts now
Big lever type socket wrench. Loosen both but only take one out :naughty
Take out the shim of choice, reload and repeat on the other bolt. Retighten and check camber angle.
Saves the whole lot off :thumbs

Sorry to be a pain but can someone point out which bit I'm looking at from the Front Axle and Suspension section of the workshop downloads on page 29?

Thankies

Sorry I can't suss out how to link it but section FA-9 is the bit you need onwards :thumb2

Section was spot on mate

I soaked them last night and removed them dropped the car and didn't really see a big difference, there was a difference but I was expecting more, I'm just going to let the suspension settle before taking another pic and posting it as comparison.

Was literally a case of removing bolt and pulling off the washer;

So if anyone needs any to add to their truck you can have them for the price of postage when I'm sure I don't need them

They look more like spring washers to me
Where did you remove them from exactly ?

I removed it from behind the 22mm nut head, I just slid it off and removed the washer and then put the nut back in

I've not removed the complete wrong thing have I?

I just presumed they were the right thing as they were 3mm like I was told they would be

The washers u need to remove are hidden in the hole which the bolt cam out not the washer round the bolt head that spring washer stops the bolt working loose as ur driving down bumpy roads.

Any pics of this before I attempt for a 2nd time

There's pics in the manual section I mentioned.
Basically the top arm is spaced off the chassis by some more washers .
So go back and slacken both bolts. Then undo one of them and catch the shim washer that is BEHIND the arm. Refit bolt WITH the spring washers you're trying to give away :lol
Repeat for the other bolt and retighten to the very high torque :thumbs
Good luck :homer

Thanks for the reply mate

I attempted this again yesterday evening and wasn't sure what the hell was going on as each bolt seemed to have different sized shims :doh

Driver Side
Left Bolt x1 3mm Shim
Right Bolt x1 4mm Shim + x1 2mm shim

Passenger Side

Left Bolt x1 6mm Shim
Right Bolt x1 4mm Shim + x1 1mm Shim

Why would they all be different like this and how will I know that I've got this set correctly if I start removing shims?

Shall i remove them all or shall shall I remove them one at a time?

R.T.F.M. :doh
There is a reason, it's because those shims also correct for castor angle . So you can have more shim thickness in the front or rear hole to set the top arm correctly.
You should be using a camber level or similar or else you cant measure the camber angle before or after shim removal.
The manual gives you the right thickness to add/remove per degree of camber /castor you want to correct.
Get it wrong and you'll be shredding tyres and steering like a shopping trolley :lol

I'm thinking the best thing to do here is to get down to the Kwik Fit where my mate works, get him to check the alignment out and then make the adjustments as necessary

what do you think?
