That sounds like a nice cheap gauge. :clap I had thought of that method but I have just bought some Mickey Thompsons and want to try and give them a good start with some good correct camber . Any idea of what camber should be?Parked on flat ground, by eye
Your notchyness will be the universal joint on the steering column (behind the drivers side wheel), mine does this if my Ter is parked up for a few weeks. Get some WD40 or thin oil would be better and that will help.
I was just reading another thread where a member had been supplied the wrong bottom ball joint - in his case the joint was too short causing huge positive camber. Therefore there must be a long and a short bottom ball joint and maybe the long one fitted where a short one should be would give lots of negative camber.
Maybe worth investigating further?
If it was a worn CV,i would have thought you would have heard it.Mine was noisy when reversing.could it be the cv joint ?. surely their would be some movement in the wheel if it was worn and it wouldn't wear just one side of the tyre . the reason I think its the drivers side camber is because the inside 2 inches of the trye is slick just about see the string in the tyre and the other side has about 3mm tread left
