Had the torsion bars tweaked last week camber is now out .It is going in for all new top and bottom ball joints next week ,I have been told the top arm is shimmed it is the lower part of the wheel that`s towing in so do I assume that the top will need shims removed ?

Any advice would be great .

You need to remove the upper arm from the chassis and remove some shims.

It's a very very fine art, theres actually a table in the workshop manuals that gives a very accurate conversion to .0 of a mm but I haven't been able to find anyone clever enough to use it yet :lol :lol :nenau

I just do it by eye now until I go and get tracking done and then pay attention to the camber measurments then and just add/minus shims where needed

I made a simple camber gauge at work out of box section and a spirit level.
The ground needs to be perfectly flat to use it and get an accurate reading.
If you are having new ball joints fitted i would leave getting the camber sorted until after as a worn ball joint can throw it out a little.

Any phone app for a level. Make note of ground angle then wheel angle, subtract and there's your camber. Refer to manual which gives shim thickness in relation to angle if your dangle.
No need to remove top arm, just cut slots in your washers and pop them in . Simples.

you can replace the shims with washers, at least then they can not come loose and your A arm gets ripped out of the chassis rails when your 4wheelin :doh
