I want to go to Ukraine witch is sort of near Azerbaijan isn't it?
my god, what a situation pal. I cant believe you are going to buy an Atoz, the shame...THE SHAME.
Fairly close, but no longer part of Soviet Union.
We are here to visit my son, who works here on 3 year contract.
best regards,
Rustic
Ah that explains it Well in that case the car you buy needs to cost less than 250 and have a years MOT and some tax or you're no better off You're running costs will be less obvoiusly but there wont be much of that till you pass I guess. So buy wisely young man or you'll just be opening another can of car worms.:thumb2
In fact I'm amazed you got learners driver insurance for 550 quid, that's just stupendous :clap What's the company called? I could use that info for my nephew who's found nothing under £900
Why not insure them all for the same money with a guideline on cars they can drive, and if or when they have an accident or claim then put the insurance up???
Cant work out how they do this insurance bulls**t, my daughter is 19 has her test in 3 weeks, bought a mint little fiesta with 24,000 all documented miles last week off an old couple for 1700 quid. The cheapest quote for the group 2E fiesta was 1600..Not too bad I thought, but when she phoned to take out the policy they informed her the insurance would go up to 2700 when she passes her test!! How is this justified, I really feel for kids these days when they take to the road! Why not insure them all for the same money with a guideline on cars they can drive, and if or when they have an accident or claim then put the insurance up??? I know back when i passed my test and bought my morris marina in 1987 it was about £120 quid or something to insure. And yes thats a fair while ago, but why is it so expensive? Rich..
I imagine they consider that whilst on 'L Plates' she will have an experienced driver by her side, which reduces the risk. i.e. once she passes her test she will be driving solo, and not be under instruction.
Nonetheless £2700.00, or even £1600.00 is an astronomical figure, but if you were to watch the local youth in the area where I live, and the way that they pilot their lowered Saxo's, Clio's and 106's etc, then you might understand the high risk involved in indemnifying this group of motorists.
I have read recently of some insurers, who are allowing reductions for having a 'black box' type device fitted in the young drivers vehicle, which relays driving habits directly to the insurer, who can then evaluate the premium required on the driving style of the insured. Have you looked into this?

Alan
Nope, the Hyundai is cheap, I've worked out the costs, I just can't afford the terrano insurance monthly
