Buying a new Battery

Could someone let me know where i can buy a new Battery for my Nisson Mistral 1995.I tried Halfords but the terminals where the wronge way round on their batteries. The one ive got on is a 70 amp.

Also be aware that the method of clamping the battery varies with model and year. Mine is clamped at the base, others are clamped with a bridge over the top.
Most car parts stockisks can get them, BUT the clamping arrangement is important. I have rejected a couple in the past.
For a diesel, go for the heaviest duty you can get with the largest cold cranking current (Amps)

halfords are notoriously bad a supplying and fitting batteries for imported cars be carefull of them!

get the correct battery,my mav had not,6 months later battery died,and while i was checking it out the top blew off it while cranking engine.

halfrauds are notoriously bad at supplying and fitting anything.

Try yell or the yellow pages for a local battery wholesaler. I've been buying al my batteries from one now for the last 15+ years, the prices are excellent, everythings available off the shelf and you know that its going to be a more recent battery than some of the ones that have been sitting in shops for months if not years on end. I usually change the battery outside and leave the old one for them to dispose of too.

Unfortunately battery prices in the past few weeks have rocketed as much as 20% in some cases, it’s down to the price of lead I am told. Thought something was up as we have had loads of people in for scrap battery’s recently not had that for a long time (since the recycling laws changed and we had to pay to get rid)
