finally the bedroom is decorated and carpeted :naughty..... looks quite nice too considering I did most of it ..... just got curtains / blinds to fit now .

Sheila has bought a extending curtain pole ( never seen one of those before ) and also some lined curtains ....... so im going to attempt to fit the curtain pole today armed with my cordless drill/screwdriver , if I succeed then the bedroom will be finished ......only furniture to put in then :clap.

the decorators are coming to wallpaper / paint the lounge on the 14th oct ....so then the lounge will need carpeting ....... and curtains .....then ready for the great move in :naughty:naughty

Glad it seems you're making some progress at last, even if it is two steps forward, one step back, but one has to wonder, seeing the council has known for weeks that the lounge needs decorating, is it still two weeks away?
Hang in there, it can only get better! Bruce

Pete, I'm sure you will be in before Christmas..... not sure what Christmas though :augie:augie:lol

It will be worth it in the end though mate

trouble with loans is you have to pay them back , putting even more stress on limited finances , its better to save up , its a vicious circle debt .

yes but a budgeting loan is interest free & if the payments are too high then you send a letter stating that & they'll reduce it for you. you can pay back as little as £20 pm for a £800 loan, but the choice is up to u & sheila obviously, was just a thought :thumb2

well ....... I did it :clap:clap:naughty..... I managed to fit the extending curtain pole and hang the curtains :thumb2...... only fell off the ladder twice , got a few more bruises , worst is when I fell I landed on the box of drill bits ... scattering them all over the newly carpeted floor ..... my hand found one as I landed .... so got a couple of plasters on ..... all in all im quite proud of myself :bow:bow:clap:clap

the council don't really care about the decorating ..... they gave us a £100 grant to decorate the whole bungalow .....that just about bought the paint for the bedroom and kitchen

bedroom almost done ..me and Sheila did it ..... ok I fell off the ladder a few times ..... but doesn't look that bad ..... professional decorators coming tomorrow to do the lounge though .

I take my hat off to you (or I would if I had one!)

thanks guys , it means a lot ...... ok its taken us around 3 months to get to that stage and ive lost count of the times ive fallen off the ladder , but its quite an achievement .

Looks very nice & from the pic it looks as if your good at cutting in with the paint too:thumbs
Our council is a nightmare to get anything done:doh Had a new heating system fitted at the beginning of the year & what a mess the plasterer made my kitchen wall looked like the Rockies:eek: ripped it all off & did it myself & managed to get the wall nice & straight (only plastered twice before so not great at it) Have also took the time fixing 30+ years of council bodge jobs throughout the house:augie

Whens the party boss?

just had a call from the removal man ... hes coming on Friday afternoon / tea time .... so we will be moved on Friday !!!! :naughty:thumb2:thumb2:D:D

Best of luck Pete, you'll be sorted out and settled by Christmas with the family. :thumbs

well , we have sorta moved into the bungalow  , the removal man didn't turn up :( , so my nephew chris ( tiny ) suggested we take apart the metal 4 poster bed and put it in my car ( citroen berlingo multispace ) .. at first I thought he had been smoking some strange tobacco , but just to humour him I gave him the tape measure and tools to dismantle the bed  ...... after a few minutes he shouted " IT WILL FIT IN UNCLE PETE " ..... amazingly the whole bed ( including mattress ) fitted into the car !!..... a king sized 4 poster !!!! , so now its assembled up at the bungalow we have somewhere to sleep , unfortunately the wardrobe wouldn't fit in the car :augie.
