Just wondering, has anyone had experience of those aerodynamic roof boxes before? I'm wondering if I could convert one of these into a roof top tent for a fraction of the price of a normal roof top tent!

This very thought ran through my tiny little mind, there's a video out there of some fella who's done just this. I bought a proper rtt in the end. :p

Yeah I’ve seen a YouTube video with this type of thing too. Although it worked for the bloke it seemed a bit too much of a compromise to me. He ended up buying a roof from a defender and made a RTT out of that but although better I still thouht it seemed too much of a compromise.

They're all to expensive though. Looks like the old Goretex bivvi bag will do!

Well Done! You're getting thru that list!

I've lost count of how long I've had my wheel arch extensions for!

The Trol has been thru two MOT's while I've had them in the garage tho! :lol

Which ones have you got?

The ones in the second link ^^. My tyres poke out a good two and a bit cm on either side. Its that tractor type tread that gives them away, plus the extensions will stop a lot of mud spraying up the side of the truck!

Jay look at that second link, they have wheel arch extension seals :thumbs

Its a good list coming together nicely buddy :thumb2

Yup, same as mine!

Well, at least I can buy the rubber seal from those guys! :clap

Oh, yeah, also... The sides of my car gets extremely muddy two... I'm looking forward to getting the extensions on... Eventually!

Good news and bad news...

Passed MOT with a wee bit of welding! YAY! :)

Bad news, engine in limp mode possibly due to the fuel tank being taken off for the welding and possible air in the system? Booo! The garage have got an error code which points to that happening. Anyone else had this happen? Is there a cure?

Brian, currently wasting time at home instead of collecting mud from some green lanes somewhere :(

Turns out the fault code was "77 P7" which is something to do with air in the fuel system? So as usual in these situations something else breaks! The fuel primer pump thingy on top of the fuel filter was siezed up and not working, so (much to my horror and disgust) my NISSAN PATROL now has a landrover defender fuel filter primer thingy. Not only that but my rear roll bar droplinks are now modified landrover links. All working now.

Also have the new wheel arch extension kit on(ish) its cheap, misshapen, plastic trash, but bugger me it does the job! Its also exposed some rust which I'll get rid of soon(ish..)

Pics sometime soonish..

P.S. The rubber seal doesnt fit properly and keeps pinging off. The plastic kit is too big for the seal. I' think I'll go round the kit with some glue and apply it one screw area at a time

I know a guy who has a landrover fuel thingy on a Terrano, not drop links though!
Has it started acting like a landrover, ie leaking oil, crap ride, not starting? :D
