Sorry guys, not getting the why part here :nenau

Anything that gets past the grill on the snorkel head is going to be stopped by the filter (that's what it's there for) and will be very small. Your filter has a lot of surface and you're unlikely to notice any difference between the scheduled air filter checks. Fitting another, lets face it smaller, filter is just going to cause hassle and increase the chance of clogging your intake :nenau

I mean you don't worry about the odd bug or small leaf catching in your radiator do you?

I was wondering the same... I guess they would keep out sand and dust which could build up and fill the air filter holder, if you were in a convoy on a dry and dusty back track, but I would worry about them getting blocked prematurely.

Not only that, but what about them getting wet, after all, wetting a tea towel is enough to stop air getting to a pan fire.

Good point about it getting wet!

If you're in convoy the thing to do to keep the dust out is to turn the ram head 180 degrees.

I dunno, I just don't like big leafs n stuff in my box. The getting wet thing is a very good point!
I just had the thought of putting some smaller gauge mesh in the scoop but I suppose that would get blocked relatively fast. Like you say Rob the air filter has a lot of surface area, I know some people put a cone filter in when doing the snorkel mod but I kept my barrel/tube one and modded the box more in order to keep the maximum surface area and so I could still use original filters. Conclusion......leave it alone doug :lol

Oh and I'll have you know mr ferret I was one of the first boy racers in the country to use black tights to tint rear lenses with :kissy

Bri, sorry for hi-jacking mate, I'll buy you a pint when we come over fof some laning :thumbs

To end up with this...

It just means that if any more moths escape my wallet, they won't end up in my air box! Also bunged on some new wiper blades, and spent what felt like 6 hours cleaning all the windows inside and out.. Apparently the wheels and tyres will arrive on monday.

Just took off the front mud flaps in preparation for the bigger tyres. No piccies the suns knocked off for the night.

Is there anything else I can do with just some screw drivers and a knife while I wait? Not just for the wheels, but any other mod type things inside?

What's the clearance like inside the arches with the rubbers etc? Have a look in there and make sure that they are all popped in correctly :nenau

Are you bored on your site again as usual?

Done! I can fit my whole head in there and have a good look around! And yes, I'm bored out of my skull and need some little bits and bobs to do.

Also, just found these guys...

Who are local.

That mesh on the Snorkel looks awesome mate! :thumbs

If your wheels are anything like mine, you will fit them in with no issues and full lock going forward wont be an issue.

I still catch mine if I go full lock in reverse, so need to take a little more material away from the inner arch! :doh

Still waiting for the wheels, but I thought I'd give the truck a cleanup...
