Hi,
question,-
will a bull bar off a 95 Mistral( the one with the plastic on) square headlight model, fit a 97 T2 round headlight model? At a glance the brackets underneath appear to be the same.Is there any difference in the bumpers? looking at pics they appear to be the same. Thanks in advance,

Wayne

ive always been lead to believe they wont fit

elty is probably the best to ask this one:bow:bow:bow

i know the "A" bar has to be spaced out with washers, not to sure about bull bar, proberly fits the same, but dont know around the lights.

So are we saying the chassis changed between the Mistral square light and the later round headlight models? Not challenging it just interested to know....

shouldn't take five minutes to measure the distances involved and check the bolt holes?

Bit like the old "SWB door is different to the LWB" door discussion.....:augie

what it is the mistral A barhas a plastic cover on, i took mine off and when you offer it to the vehicle it hits the bumper so using spacers/washers it tips it forward, zippy will know about it cos it's on his truck now.:thumb2

Its not the chassis that the issue its the shape of the bumper and thus the angle at which the bars have to sit.

A picture would be great Zippy if you dont mind. So are we saying then that it will fit if remove the plastic?:nenau, and some washers to make ot sit forward a bit?
Thanks Wayne

Aha. So its worth checking then to see if the plastic can be shaved a bit as it could sit correctly then. I mean if a few washers do the job it can't need much taking off....:augie

think i might be getting my terminology wrong a little chaps. its actually an A bar, that im looking to fit, not a bull bar as i originally asked. :doh Sorry, its off a 95 Mistral and has got the plastic on.
thanks.

Principle is the same Wayne, as I think they both use the same mounting holes....the bull bar is just a bit more scaffolding :augie:lol

Thanks Lacroupade,
sounds like its going to be worth taking off the other vehicle then, didnt want to waste my time and effort if it was a total no go.
Should look smart, and as you say if all it needs is washers to make it sit 4ward, then shaving some of it (being only plastic) is a possibility.:thumb2

Well from what I'm hearing, best approach is to mount it temporarily as best you can to see what amount of plastic needs shaving - and if its not too much, just do it (then you don't need the washers, its an either/or)- carefully with a jigsaw I'd say. but since its right underneath and barely visible unless you've been run over by it, you haven't got to be a rocket scientist or anything! Just have a go, you'd be surprised what you can do!:clap:clap:clap

thanks chaps, that looks a nice shiny bar Zippy, hope mine looks that good. gonna take it off the Mistral this coming weekend and then offer it up to mine, hope to try an keep th plastic on. Its a trial and error job, but im sure ill get there. once i know its a tidy fit,ill clean the bar up. ill post pics once its done.
Thanks Wayne

as you can see i got 3 washers / spacers...

and its still very close to the bumper.

Hi, well took the bar off the Mistral, came off eventually(good old plus gas). But there was a couple of brackets extra to what is shown on Zippys pics, about halfway up the bar, which aint on my T2, which would mean cutting slots in the bumper, dont fancy doing that, this is obviously the difference. Zippy; are the bolts underneath sufficient to hold the bar on their own? Cant try it at this stage as the bolt hole threads are stripped on the one side, and bolts rounded off on the other. So going to have to drill them out and re-tap a new thread, and use new bolts. :( Not giving in though, cos reckon its going to look smart. Will post pics when get there.

Thanks Wayne
