I just bought a new one when mine went, took the old one to a local specialist, he couldnt believe how siezed it was :augie
 
should have give it to me, I may have been able to make it live again, Rick
 
Rick I think mine is dying a death, it's really slow turning over and lights dim, I know the battery is fine :(

Got a spare coming now but do you think you'd be interested in trying to refurb my faulty one so I have a spare in future for a fee?

Top man, I'm going to wait for it to just give up then fit the new one and I'll post it down

if it really is getting sluggish, and you want to save it then better to change it now or you may kill it beyond redemption, Rick
 
Hi Rick,

I'm quite near you, in Eastbourne, you did a nice job on that starter, replaced mine last week, about the only bit that was ok was the bearing in the front ! Rear bush had gone on mine and armature had been dragging badly on the windings
