hi just got a problem with the breaks my break peddal creeps to the floor if y hold steady pressure on it and checked the fluid bottle and its empty checked the rear wheels for leaking nothing ther all bone drie front and back cant seem to see any leaks anywhere nothing dripping on floor so was wondering could it be master cylinder any ideas would be appreciated

If you are loosing brake fluid, major problem, if no exterior sign or under bonnet leaks, then check the area in the driver's foot well, it could be coming past the rear seal of the master cylinder.

If not here, then check under the under tray, that can hold back quite a bit of fluid, especially if dirty.

There is also a pressure regulating valve over the off side rear axle, this has a spring attached.
Hope this helps,
best regards, Rustic

yes top up and keep topped up as you bleed and work from the farest wheel from mastercylinder to the nearest

might need bleeding

It can't suddenly need bleeding unless you have been doing some work on the brakes, eg replacing brake cylinders or calipers....:nenau :nenau

thanks for the info m8tys but cant see it needing bleeding coz not touched out on breaks the break peddle just started to bottom out on the way home from work bin perfect up to that looking like it will have go in garage for more investigation

also depends how long since you had the fluid changed. COuld be a combination of air in the system and fluid with water in

I have not had one of these to bits yet but it could be that it is leaking into the vacuum servo and disapearing into the vacuum pump, not sure on this as I have not got a diesel, but just a thought, Rick

a complete random suggestion but I've know these symptoms to be caused by the following problems on transit vans

1, vacuum pipe to back of alternator (don't know where it is on a t2)

2, rear wheel cylinders, (check the insides of the back wheels and tyres for fluid)

No2 is a good point actually; frequently neglected and often perished...:thumb2
