i need a new break load valve for my trol.. it conects to the back axel by a big spring.. are they same as terranos? just had new discs and pads fitted on back today and the load valve has failed so now im without a car and cant get my hands on one:(

any body got one for sale?

thanks larson

rear brake load sensor valve aperently adjusts the breaking/balance it fixes from the underside of the floor at the rear to the axel by a spring at the rear...

you can alter then to make it brake heavier to the front or rear, personaly i wouldnt..

Thanks for that. Have one of them on pick-up truck that seems to have a slight leak and was wondering if it was important to keep an eye on it. Looks like it is.

mine is now casting nearly as much in brake fluid as it is diesel. going to have to park it up... im gutted

Brake load valve

It recognises that your rear suspension has compressed somewhat and concludes that there is a load/a number of passengers in the car.

When the car is empty the most of the braking is done by the front brakes (because the back brakes are unweighted and would skid if they anchored up with the same force as the front brakes, which have lots of weight on them), when there are people/a load in the car the valve alters the brake pressure distribution so the back brakes do more braking (without skidding, because they have weight on them).

Presumably you have sorted your problem - I've been away for some time - let me know - I run two Patrols 2001 Y61 LWB & 2003 Y61 SWB - both ZD30's - lots of knowledge on these trucks - also have many parts since I have broken up one or two - I think I may have a load sensor valve somewhere
