Cant blame the wife this time !, I have topped up the power stearing with brake fluid, I didnt find out until two days later when the stearing started to make a noise !,
I have drained the resevior but cant see were to drain at the stearing rack, I have now topped it up (with the right stuff) .

What are the consequences of leaving it as it is now.?.

Would suggest you flush it through with several litres of ATF straight away. Mineral brake fluid does strange things to seals not designed for it.

Nice easy way to flush it

Take the return hose of the res and block it at the res.

Use any NON MINERAL hydraulick fluid (I usually use a jack oil) and run the engine pouring oil in the res and letting it pump into a can.

Stop engine
Drain fluid
Reassemble and refill witht the correct fluid

Timbo is right. Leaving it as it is will likley destroy all the seals
