Brake failure today

As said got 1/4 mile from home, realised I had forgotten something so as a turning was coming up to go back, indicated and braked a little harder than the norm and initially pedal normal then sudden sinking, knew straight away I had a leak, quiet back roads so no problem but today I should have been taking a two tonne trailer load of hard core to the depot, so could of been serious, limped back home, stuck it on the hoist and the only rear pipe not to have been replaced was the culprit, LSV to flexy on axle, it proved perfect except for a 10 mm section as it left the LSV and of course the most difficult bit to see, so less than an hour later new pipe made and fitted, kept the fluid level topped up so no bleeding needed, just nipped up the LSV joint last (high point) once it started dripping and back on the road, Rick

Had exactly the same!! I ended up replacing all pipes front to back, for ease of mind. Markings on the flex pipes showed they'd been on since 1997. So far for MOT and maintenance history

Too right, it is my mates trailer and the brakes do not work, someone must be looking after me as last week it was decided that Tuesday am was the day to take it to the depot, but we got behind on stud work and plasterers are in tomorrow so had to fin stud today instead, what is it they say, better born lucky than rich! Yep got all the kit and spare motors to fix any eventuality, always remember fitting a Solar system for a commercial air pilot, when it was mentioned that you cannot turn the Sun off he demanded a back up pump in case of pump failure, he forgot about a power cut, we did not enlighten him, Rick

Personally I would take it back to the guy who fixes your truck...:nenau

A quick fix, that would have left most of us off the road for a few days, chasing after parts.
