Bought myself a little awning for the rear end.

Got this off eBay the other day.
Had a bit of a play around with it today and I'm really pleased with it.
Took 10 mins to unpack and fit to the back of the truck.
No more arsing around with tarps this does just the job.:thumb2

Can adjust the height of the rear with the poles.
Have yet to test it out in the field so looks like a trip out at the weekend :sly

yeah i've used it a few times now:thumb2
i added a couple more guy ropes where the pole goes across the middle as the wind can get under it and lift it but other than that no problems at all.
will get some proper use out of it in a couple of weeks when we are camping in wales:cool:
Turned it into a free standing gazebo with a couple of extra poles at the front so quite a versatile bit of kit:thumb2

Awesome, I'm starting to look at some camping gear for meets and my son also wants to start camping, got a bloody caravan and he wants to sleep in a tent :lol

I much prefer camping to caravaning myself.
I just feel so cramped in a van.

I've recently bought an airbeam tent.
Had it up on the garden a few weeks back in the heaviest rain and hail we have had this year and stood up no problem and stayed bone dry inside so that's put my mind at ease about using it in Wales in a couple of weeks :thumb2

Had a look round a couple of air beam tents yesterday, I was surprised how solid the beams were, proper rock solid!!

Camping kit?

That awning looks good and a cheap solution, and more robust than the current tarp, while I look at the next stage of the build on this (which has slowed down a little recently).

What is the rear shelter?
A cheap tarp from Decathlon. It's rubbish on the back of the car. I'm likely to replace with the rear awning that Davey Boy has as there are support poles to keep it taut.
Or a roof tent opening over the rear to provide shelter.
