Went up to Scotland today to see a good friend & old forum member & he's given me his old bonnet protector off his old T2:D Now it was clear when he got it but he painted it black which looked good but due to age it needs redoing but can't make my mind up if it should go black again or I spray it silver to match the body work or even dark grey like the bumpers & door mouldings for a nice contrast:nenau & before anyone says it yes it is getting fitted:lol also got a pair of headlight & indicator protectors:thumb2

Whats up with you, thought you'd of carbon fibre wrapped it:lol

Funny you should mention that I've all ready thought about it but from the back of the guard you would see the edges of the vinyl:doh that's why it's getting painted:thumbs

Satin black for def.

I always think Black goes perfectly with Silver, so black is the easy option.

Me too, black would look nice, I think that the same colour as the body will make it look to busy.

I always fancied a smoked colour one to match the wind deflectors on my van but I couldn't find one for the 3.0l bonnet. So charcoal grey would get my vote. Never looked at how they're fitted but is there enough gap to fit both a bonnet and headlight protectors between the bonnet edge and headlight unit?

Yes:thumbs my mate had both fitted on his, managed to get the headlight protectors cleaned up & removed a lot of the scratches with G3 cutting compound & got them fitted today & noticed my O/S headlight took a hit last night on the way back as heard a clatter:doh luckily there is just a tiny mark on the glass

Hmmm... me thinks this forum has problems with it's maths...

6 votes... one has 4, one has 3... the one with 3, has 50% yet the one with 4, has 66.6%... is this based on the old "imperial" percentage system, where it can add up to 116.6%?:lol, or has the Chancellor been doing his budgeting on here?

Well i've gone with the poll ie black for now:thumbs went & got some gloss black spray paint as the old black paint was missing in places on the bonnet guard so gave it a quick rub down as my shed was heating up, dried it all off then into the shed I go & started spraying away:augie a few mins later I noticed what ever it was painted with before was badly reacting to the new paint:doh:doh so have had to let it dry then start scraping off all of the paint but the wife's nail varnish remover is helping loads:lol Once I get it all off will sand it to key the surface & respray it again from the rear of the guard as it's a clear one so at least I won't get stone chips in the paint once done:thumbs

Liking your headlight inner silver strips, looks tidy. Is that stock?

Enough said, is it not painted yet :naughty :augie

Only 2/3's through removing all of the paint but had to stop as I was getting to high off the nail varnish remover:lol:lol the budgie has gone very quiet think he's stoned:lol:doh

No it's on the headlight protectors which I noticed are made in OZ makes a nice change from China:lol:augie

Anyway got the bonnet guard sprayed on Wednesday evening (I floated out of my shed due to the fumes:lol) left it so the paint hardened off yesterday. I put a couple of strips of vinyl wrap along the bonnet edge just in case the guard started to rub on it as I didn't want my paint work damaged & then got it fitted:D
