Bolt Removal

Has anyone got any ideas about removing this bolt, it stands proud by approx 4mm.

Is it seized in there?


Could you perhaps cut a slot in the end, enough to get a slot headed screwdriver in it.

If you have access to a welding machine a nut welded on the end often works the heat helps free it off, Failing that your drilling it im afraid.

Weld a nut on it as above.

OK will try that tomorrow when we have the welder back out.

Trick is turn the welder up get a nice weld & let it cool before trying to undo the nut.
If you are doing it with an arc welder it will be a bit more of a challenge & I would weld a washer on instead of a nut as you are less likely to get flux inclusion in the weld.
