Well done Rick, looks like you are saving one more Terrano from the parking bay in the sky. Wish I had your skill and confidence to repair the motors.

I have to admit it is getting harder and harder, laying down and contortionist welding is not easy, and my eyes are getting bad, I have 3 different pairs of glasses to choose from depending how close I can get my head to the weld, and often choose the wrong ones:doh but I get there, what I really need is a hoist, but they are elusive, Rick

looking good mate, wish i could weld like that, got an old sip stick welder which i bought to learn, done a few exhausts but not very good tbh lol

stick welding is no good for body stuff, you need a mig, but stay small, many 150/170 amp migs will just not go low enough for thin bodywork, your stick is good for chassis welding, good thick metal that needs good penetration, Rick

Just to let you all know, it failed, but only on front brake imbalance, NSR hand brake ineffective, and wiper blade us, rear brake was cable, changed it, front brakes was one stuck piston, changed it, will do wipers in the morn and represent, so should be on the road with this one on Wed, but I have to say although it is a TDi, is is nothing like my Mrs one, this is gutless, time will tell, Rick

Oh bugger what a pain, I guess it just needs some tinkering with, I always find redex can make a big difference to clear out a load of muck too.

Shame it needed a bit extra work but at least no more welding for the MOT:thumb2 can only go off my SWB but when it was down on power cleaning the filter in the banjo helped & so did replacing the dieing Maf

OK so it passed, front brakes are OK but not startling, rears are good, so disks and pads me thinks, power wise this has a Zezel pump, so will be having the mini filter away asap, as well as renewing the filter, in fact as with all new motors it will get a full service as soon as time allows, anyway it is all sorted legally for running tomorrow, incidentally no tax disc now, but will start a new thread on this as I think it has issues, Rick
