Hi all, I purchased an MOT failure 6 odd weeks ago, not had time to do anything to it till today, was supposed to help a mate put a roof a conservatory, but he managed on his own, so here we are with the off side rust issues, this is the rear seat belt point and wing, the wing is not a fail point and as it is so so near the finish paintwork I will sand blast it, treat it to stop further rust, fill it with foam and put the plastic trim back, the seat belt is a simple weld job, I use two skins for strength,

OMG! That is scary. I hate to think what I am going to do next year if/when it fails on the other sill for welding. Just hope I can find a weld friendly garage.

now I am starting to cut out the grot to get to something that can be welded to

in the last pic you can see the weld marks of a previous repair, this is sound but the metal on the inside is rot so need to cut that away without disturbing the plate the other side, this pic is towards the front, more tomorrow, Rick

you are right, but I am getting on and slowing down, but to a more agile man with all the kit on tap what you see here is less than a days work, I do not have the benefit of a lift and it is hard work kneeling/laying down, Rick

Look forward to seeing the results, as it looks like an MOT write off from here...
