To answer lacroupade I knew an LMEM(M) Dawson from the Preston area not sure if it's the same person though.

What on earth will they do with Sulton it is a massive site. Will it be sold off for housing developement.

Well one of the civvey instructors said

the MOD lease it off the council, and when the navy go they will turn it in to a uni.

The non-tech side will be dorms and the tech side which is new will be the classrooms.

nope, the one I know was from south of Oxford originally and now settled in Yeovil....served on Ark Royal at some point I think.

HI THIS TAP THE ARM REST IS A TIP I POSTED 3 YRS AGO.
THE TAPPING FREE`S THE RELAY TANSFERE CABLE "eg" up and down movement.
the engine revs dropping when you operate the window switch is the window winder motor trying to operate so maybe stuck window .
DOES THE ENGINE REVS DROP WHEN YOU OPERATE WINDOW SWITCH IN EATHER DIRECTION?.

if the window is STUCK, disconect the arm, then try to see if the motor works.

hold switch in opposite direction TO THE ONE WHICH MAKES REVS DROP.
with ignition on give the door panel a good beating .IT MAY make the direction cable JAR FREE.

remember you MUST HOLD SWITCH DOWN WHILE YOU BELT IT ONE.

I think the passenger window gets stuck somehow?
