Bloody windows (not the software...)

Ok

Today i changed the drivers door trip and plugged in the window switch, gave it a try and it worked, then tried the passenger and nothing not even a peep.

The fuses under the steering wheel arent for the windows, there is a fuse block/relay in the engine bay for all windows and sunroof.

The sunroof and drivers side all work?

Is there another fuse somewhere? what size or type is the one in the door card itself? are they cheap (relay)

can you try to swop the parts from the working side, see if its that stuff

if so make sure wires are in properly..

just new door and new switch. the old door was cracked, old switch had a mind of its own.

no went off in a huff!

off to the old mans tomorrow, via a tool shop.

will try the old window switch see if it brings the other one back to life.

Try taking the door card off and see if you have power at the plug for the motor, if so treat yourself to a new one if not trace your wiring to see if you have trapped it wen fitting the door card. :thumb2

the door i refitted is fine, its the one i didnt touch that has died:nenau

But
Every now & then the drivers side doesnt want to work.?
So
I took the door card off & there is a white block at the far end which i asume is a relay.?
If i tap it,the window works :lol
So now,if the window doesnt wanna do as its told,i just tap the arm rest & it works.

So is there 1 on the passenger door as that could be your problem.?

when i go the t2 it was the drivers side that was tempramental, so i changed it, and now its buggered the other one. so i'll try the tap method.

Cheers for the invite col, but after splashing out on parts, taking out the old man and farther in law to be on sunday, and fueling up for the pompy run i will be a little short on beer tokens,

But from 3rd july to the 12th have off, and we aim to see one of my welsh mates (taff, do you know him...:lol) and i will defenatly come up over summer leave (aug ish) with or with out the mrs.

I'm sure by then there will be more faults.:naughty

Well the passenger door handle has a well and truly rounded screw that i cant get out? help!

Also when the engine is on and idling, when i push the passenger window button the revs drop? does this mean the motor works and the window is stuck?

have you looked at the switch in the centre console ?

have you got someone to do the window button while you try to encourage it down by pushing against both sides of the glass

rounded screw... get someone to hold the door while you tap the screwdriver with a hammer while turning gently..... like an impact driver but less harsh
normally free's them up

Spoke to scott, and hopefuly i'll get 2 door relays off him (the ones from in side the door)

Dont know if or when your coming back down this way but theres a North devon off road club (NDORC) site meet on aug 23rd, near me. So if i'm off i'll be down there, they have a few lanning trips soon so will try those.

But still aiming to get up to wales.

I have twin town if u want to borrow it?

ok just got in to my smack den of a cabin at hms sultan after the monster drive over to pompy, didn't see adz though.

And the pass window started working then stopped, OPEN! but I now have it shut.

So I now think it is the relays.

Good to see the laning pics, I hope to make an apperance in july ad definitely In aug boyo's!

I went through Watt Hanger in January 1979. Left in 2002 having made the dizzy heights of CPOMEM(M).

Just rebuilt my 2.4 Mav engine from parts sourced in Arazona USA. The Nissan 2.4 is very popular for drifting,. I got a full engine rebuild kit for $220 that included rings, big ends, mains, oil pump and all seals.

So if your in the States keep your eye out for cheap bits.
