Bleep/Alarm after starting engine

Approx one minute after starting the engine, I hear a single bleep which presumably is for some reason (nothing shows on the dashboard)? I thought it might be to remind me to belt up, but it still does it when belted.

Can't see anything in the manual about this - any ideas anyone?

Never had that... can you tell where the beep is coming from? The sounder on the T2 is fairly basic, located behind the dash, on the door side of the steering wheel, roughly behind the headlight adjuster. It seems mainly to only make a noise if you leave the lights on and open the door.

I guess the questions that spring to mind are,

Is it the original radio. or an after market one...
Do you have the Nissan built in alarm, or and after market one?
Satnav?
Bluetooth?
Towbar?
Any extra dials or meters?

Our radio is a Bluetooth one, and it beeps if it can't connect to the phone, after starting the car.

I have a volt meter, which takes a few seconds after the car has started and then runs a self test, which involves a brief beep on the over voltage alarm.

I had this in the Maverick , did the same when I stopped the engine as well, turns out it was a feature of the JVC head unit that the previous owner had fitted :doh

Yes I had that with a Pioneer head unit but only when switching the ignition off ,to remind you to remove the face plate.

Chck if same tone as headlamp warning when keys are out, mine plays up from time to time. Does some weird things.

Two flashes of indicator quick, then a beep and repeat :lol

My last car used to do this if it could not find mobile phone via Bluetooth, search for one min then beep to say can not find. have you changed phone.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The bleep is a far deeper note than the "you've left your lights on" sound, and it bleeps just the once roughly 20-30 secs after starting the engine.

It isn't the original radio, there is no sat nav or add-on dials that I am aware of. The sound seems to be coming from the front - possibly from under the steering wheel area, but is difficult to be sure.

There is a weird Nokia phone item dangling through the dash on a wire (from previous owner(s)) which I presume is some sort of hands free thing. Maybe it is (as was mentioned) looking for a bluetooth connection, so I shall check this out with my Nokia handset (the bluetooth setting is usually disabled on that).

Also, I'll check if it is the same pitch as the "you have left the keys in the ignition".

I get the usual "just turned the key too acc" beep, and on a cold morning it will sound again briefly as soon as the engine turns over, no more than a second or two.

Update:

1) The sound only occurs (roughly 20-30secs) after the car is actually started (rather than the ignition being turn on).

2) It's coming from the radio/CD player's speakers (looks like they were added), even though the radio/CD player is turned off.

3) Turning on the bluetooth setting on my Nokia mobile has made no difference (it still sounds).

is the nokia thing thats dangling down a in car kit, i had 1 in the last van i had, you pressed the center where it says nokia and it should pair with your phone :thumb2

as already suggested it sound like bluetooth turning off as no paired device detected, easy to check just scan the car with you mobile and see if anything bluetoothy is picked up

Thanks for all the responses. The issue is now narrowed down - it seems that the speaker that is fitted where I hear the bleep is not connected to the radio. I have a Nokia 6700S but I have have not yet worked out how to connect to this set up, even though I have enabled Bluetooth. Do I have to change the Profile Settings or something?

I have been pressing the central button on the little thingy and it bleeps (sometimes) - it also can be turned (like a volume control), but the phone handset does not respond .....

You can turn on the Bluetooth on your phone but you also have to set it so it can be seen by other devices , you have to keep the Nokia button depressed for 3sec in the car and they should find each other, hope this helps Ian
