sorry for being a total numpty guys but ive read about blanking off your EGR on other threads :nenau
what exactly does this mean and what benifits does it give :nenau

EGR is only on the engine for emission purposes, when the engine is running at low speed and/or low load some exhaust gas is let in to the inlet side, this reduces the temperature of the combustion, reducing the nitrogen oxide emissions of the engine.

Blocking of or stopping the valve opening by blocking the vac pipe to it, will stop the engine eating its own waste and make it run more smother

So is it worth doing?

Yes, yes, yes, or buy a maverick that dose'nt have an EGR valve fitted in the first place, the Maverick was made for the UK market, and the UK MOT does not test for netrogen oxide emissons.
