The sun is out :D
Many many miles of welding have been done on the Black Pearl over recent months  At last the weather has allowed me to start dressing the welds and clean up ready for it's regeneration :sly
Near side inner wing needs cleaning out ready to dress the weld lines.

Somehow in the extreme sun light we had today I have managed a multi pic pic off the phone :nenau
Anyway it's a bit more of seems cleaned and rust treated

Took the wing off to do the job properly like. Rust treated all the bare metal and had to put a few little blobs of filler to the underside of welded patches here and there.

This is another bit of filler to tidy up a welded patch we did from underneath. Just being a bit OCD :lol View looking forward to behind the headlight area. Nice clean seems too ;)

This is the patch from underneath :)

Seem sealer now on over the rust proofed welds. This is the bulkhead bit that most people give up on :p

Pretty much all prepped now and you can see here the rust proofer doing it's thing :naughty

I'll get a shed load of underseal on that tomorrow. Can't wait

Awesome bit of work...

What is "Seam Sealer"? is it something special for welded seams, or just a "Mastic like stuff for car use"?

it didn't look like that yesterday  :lol cracking work, will soon be up and running :sly

Also, what is the thing bolted to the front of the inner wing, a pre-heater?

I use a 3m one from the paint place near me.
need a new tub as mine has set solid in the tin.might try that one as is a fair bit cheaper than the one I got.:thumb2

Had some time this afternoon to get on with the black :sly
Experimented with some spray on underseal on the top section. Very quick and easy but sheesh too many bucks
It sort of boils a bit and then settles down nicely, but I did the rest with good old brush on :clap

The lower section is obviously the brush on version. Far more fun :)

Inner wing area all sprayed up with my favorite satin black :naughty

It's brilliant putting stuff back together again.

Got to make a new fuel filter mount tomorrow and finish the loom shroud etc

Great work:thumb2. Don't fancy doing my Patrol do ya?:D

Thanks but no thanks :augie I've got my own Trol chomping at the bit as it is :D
Plus my Cortina project and apparently the wife wants her kitchen finished :doh
I told her it would be ready for Christmas once too often :freak3:

Agree with makeitfit spray on is expensive and not necessarily as good, but it can get to places that brush cannot, In my experience spray needs at least four coats to be reasonable but more is better, Rick

I use the spray on the bits of the floor I can't reach with a brush:thumb2

4th Road Bridge ?

Well what do you know ? ..............I found some more bloody rot :doh this is above a section I replaced about 4 years ago, curses rust :banghead
So here's the offending area again

Not awful, or even MOT failable . but I'm in so deep now it's coming out :hmh
Now you can see an earlier fix to the body mount ffs

Plate cut to suit :)

Weld away , again.

In fact, it's the Stig doing the hot bit :naughty

If you look closely you can see the red slug of strength creeping round the fix :splif:
Front body mount now totally reunited with the body :)

And done :p Check out the penetration :naughty
Time for some rust cure in the morning then some more underseal. Wing back on and round we go again :lol
