Me,Exosteve and our mate lee went out for a bit of winter laning today.
Spent a a good couple of hours just recovering cars that where blocking the roads so we could get on our way but most epic recovery was left until last.

Drive to the final lane of the day which was a very steep accent,I got up ok but both Steve and lee lost grip and slid sideways blocking the road.
Lee winched himself free and reversed back but Steve was further up the road unable to go up or down so we winched him back down to safety.

All in all a brilliant day and we all got home safe which is what matters.:thumb2

Looks as if you had a great day out playing in the snow:thumb2 Steve's T2 must have caught something off that LR which is why he got stuck:lol give the truck a lemsip it'll be fine in the morning:thumbs:lol

:lol to be fair it was luck that I got up, was just sheer ice.
As we lost the light the temp dropped well below freezing.
I turned round and used the bank to creep down and anchored my truck to the trees as i was being pulled down by the weight of Steve's truck.
Took almost 2 hours to get us back down but you can't put a time limit on safety.

Brilliant and sounds like you have technical ability to get out of there safely.

A few more snaps from yesterday

Got a bit of video which is uploading as I type.

Time for a cuppa soup while we spend an hour rescuing someone from wolverhampton.
They thought it would be nice to see the peak district in the snow and got into a real bad situation

I couldn't believe how stupid and thought less those couple of car drivers where.
This guy had the bright idea of going for a bike ride on the manifold trail.
His dad was trying to recover him in a rav 4 with no recovery point on the rear and He was struggling himself to get grip.

The scenery looks amazing. Wish I had the bottle to go laning let alone in those conditions. Used to love laning but doubt my old bus would do that anymore and the new one hasnt got the tyres for it.

The scenery was awesome :thumb2
We were saying how lucky we are to live just a stones throw away from the peak district.
Also having the ability to go out into the middle of it in this weather is a bonus.
The second lane we did Steve shouted over the cb where are you going Elt?
As there was not a footprint or any evidence that there was a way across the winter landscape :lol

Great pics. It's awesome to go where mortals cannot tread with scenary like this in our back garden.
