spoke to a guy this evening and im having 1000lts delivered next week, it works out at £700 and includes ibc, = 70p lt, that'll do me, just got to make some room. :thumb2

yes its stop!!! know a man quite high up in morrisons and he told me!!!! veg oil use that for cooking dont you?:augie

oh no sid - if you can get it cheaply a veg oil/diesel mix runs without problem in these trucks. I got 1000 litres of sunflower oil a while ago for £500 (50p/litre) which is almost run out but thats currently saving me up to 65p a litre compared to diesel. She happily runs 50% and even more in summer.

Plenty of threads on here about it - search for SVO (which means NEW veg oil as opposed to WVO which is ex-chip shop shite and only good for brewing bio-diesel)

The last lot we got off him is running a treat:D I'm running about 10 litres of diesel to a full tank of bio:thumbs
He says it's got some sort of winteriser in it so no need to do anything but stuff it in your tank and stuff the duty grabbing stealth tax sneaky bastards at no 11:naughty

my sentiments exactly pete :lol, we have bit the bullet and now arranging the finaces, and will be calling to order next week, a mate is waiting for a t2, which he should have this week, thats why we are waiting before ordering, i dont want a 1000lts stuck here, not only that i cant afford it, :thumb2

I pay 99.9p/L for Bio with full duty and VAT paid - so how much profit are these guys making from you???? I know you're making a saving too but they are making a fortune.

I'm using it in my works van and easily go over the 2500L personal allowance so need to do it duty paid, plus I claim the VAT back of course so only 85p/L and its pumped direct into te tank when I need it an dno possible hassle from HMRC roadside checks as I nearly always have at least one recent receipt in with me.

Might be worth me looking at getting some in an IBC for personal use though for the Terrano - problem is storing it in such a way I can get it into the T2 easily.

My invoice from the bio man had 5% vat on it So I'll be claiming that back too :D It's invoiced as heating oil:augie but then as I work from home I can and do claim that back. So £640 less about 30 vat is around 61p a litre :thumbs
Every now and then get a receipt from a garage for bio diesel and have that on the dash in case of a dip:sly
I was dipped when stopped for my tyres and so far I've heard nothing back:rolleyes:
As regards the 1000 litre at a time thing , I think the guy I got mine from is starting to supply in smaller units, but ring him to check availability.

Yes that one can be a PITA.....assuming you can get it delivered and lifted you can stick it on blocks for easy drainage - I had to leave my SVO IBC on the bloody trailer for three months until it was light enough for me to tie it to the fence and tow the trailer out from under it and drop it on to blocks. :doh

OR you can get one of those pumping kits off fleabay about 70 squid :augie
We made our own, but then we got the bits from the farmers co-op:sly
Nice n cheap ooh arrh

heating oil dose the tax man not wonder what your heating a f..king castle? you can run a diesel on heating oil too but it burns hotter than nornmal diesel and can f..k the injectors up!!! as for haveing some ware to store the diesel! chip fat:) diesel bowser i would have thought to be best as you can move it around and has a pump on it ,easy to use. i have 1 for the red diesel for the tractor!!! has been know for the nosel to slip in to the d21s tank some times oopppppppppppps:sly

Hi guys, on the subject of filling stations, (as in, "filling the Chancellor's pockets"), this website is quite helpful: www.petrolprices.com - helps you find the lowest petrol price in your area. It's quite surprising just how much it can vary.

I wish :D
Only got some doors on the garage last year:augie
This year I'm told I've got to build some stairs to the back garden, as her indoors is fed up with the bloody ladder :lol

Oh it wasn't getting the stuff out that was the problem, it was getting the damn thing put exactly where you wanted it because its too heavy to move.

And then what to do with the empty IBC?

Or get it refilled in situ.

The issue with me would be I'd want the IBC inthe garage or at least in the back garden and then that would be 50+ feet from my van, which never comes down the drive, and half that from the T2. Theres a caravan (sisters) and trailer on the drive in the way. Be good if I had the space but as I don't I'll keep bying it straight out of the pump.
