Hello
My Maverick GLS 2.7 TD is a 'P' reg and I've had it for 3 years. I use it for towing my horse trailer and it's absolutely briliant. This year I've had big problems with starting from cold. The turn over is so slow that I can't even jump start it and it has to be bump started with a tow.

Is there anyone out there who can help. My mechanic is out of ideas.

Thank you

Jackie

battery and glow plugs would be my starting point, but im sure hes done them

i agree with zippy, battery, glow plugs, alternater output, starter motor, cracked battery clamp. theres a start for you Jackie.. keep us posted on how you get on. :thumb2

Also check the posistive lead coming off the battery as it breaks just where it connects to the battery terminal. Also try leaving your plugs glowing longer before cranking it. Mines a bit the same way.

also make sure it has the correct size battery on.
i bought a 2.7tdi a couple of years ago in the summer.started and ran fine until we had a cold spell then it just killed the battery.
i put an 85ah on it and it never let me down again.(until i killed it:()

had same problem in the recent cold spell, replaced the battery and tend to leave the ignition on for a tad longer before starting:thumbs. starts everytime:)
