I found that jacking up the lower arm with a bottle jack helped removing the bar brilliantly :thumb2

its an old thing !!
some people don't like somebody bashing hell out of a terrano sunday afternoon !!!!!

come back in now its freezing out there !!!

Whats special about sunday?

Nothing these days... Just that some shops close at 4:00 pm that's all these days...:naughty

We had a neighbour that was "adjusting" the front end of his Astra with a sledge hammer late one night, it was well after 11:00 pm a neighbour and I had a quiet word with him, saying had he got carried away and not noticed the time... I know I have done in the past...:doh

He was fully apologetic, and genuinely lost track of the time. He packed up his tools, and we didn't see or hear him again until late next morning.
I did the talking on this occasion, had my other neighbour done it, it might have started off as confrontational..

Always give the guy an opportunity to have a valid understandable excuse as his get out of jail free card, like, you may have lost track of time, when approaching some one that you are about to have a go at. After all you have time to think about it and plan it out. Start off nice and i will probably still finish that way.

If you approach him with ... if you don't shut up we'll call the police... or we'll shut you up... blah blah ... can only result in confrontation.

After all we have still got to live close to each other... for a very long time.

Removed gearbox last week the only thing what i could get the torsion bars off with was 4 1/2" grinder:doh

they came out easily :clap:clap

not like last ones i did, they were proper stuck in

3 hits for the o/side and 5 hits the n/side ! couldn`t believe it :thumb2

raised the wishbones with a trolley jack as suggested earlier,

it longer to wind the adjuster nuts all the way off, there was no grease protecting the threads

I did my torsion bars last weekend, the first side just would not budge - had to resort to using a blowtorch to heat the bit the bar went into. The other side came out at the rear with a couple of light taps - not sure why the difference.
