Youve set me off wondering about this now...............
surely the range of ip addr available within a given area will narrow it down to a certain defined area where the computer in question is operating out of? almost like a cascading or root type schematic
Looking in my belkin set up for the mac addr changer (which is there so thats proably no good to track someone down either ) theres a couple of pages that allow me to define either changing or fixed ip addr , however if its left to be able to change it does it within a limited range
I really dont know the answer, its something Ive never really bothered wondering about so long as I can connect
