Hi People,

I decided to buy a new front off side ABS sensor from flea bay, I asked the dealer if it was compatible, he took my registration and later that day he replied that it is.

Today when I came to fit it, there was absolutely no problem, it went in O.K and I tightened up the small bolt and all looked well.......until I decided to try and turn the hub by hand - it was locked solid :eek:

When I extracted the sensor out about 20mm the hub was free to turn again.

Imagine what would have happened if I had slapped the wheel back on and driven off.:doh

They're not all the same as it says on so many advertisements for these sensors on ebay ..... could have been expensive!!

There is a "Sticky" page for problems with suppliers and parts.

If you put the details on there it may help someone else avoid having a problem as well.

As above, please let me know details and I'll sticky that in the thread mentioned

Do you have the part No for the one you got ?

That's why it's always a good idea to offer the parts side by side to compare like for like.

I can't put the two parts side by side because the old one eventually came out in a million bits by drilling and using a hammer and old screwdriver along with a certain amount of bad language ( almost as good as plus gas)

The part number of the new part that is too long and fouls the ABS ring is 0703377.

I suppose one solution would be to make a collar for it to sit on so that it sits just short of the ABS ring.

I would clean the hole and the sensor and fit it with Silicon mastic, (low modulus) it will stay in place, but if you need to remove it a few twists and it is out, Rick

I dont know the year of your motor, but the number you have supplied is for years 2002-2005. There are many versions most quite expensive for what it is.

I know that feeling :( :( :lol
