My terrano II 2.4l 2001 swb is getting a bit tired on the old suspension can anyone suggest some good springs and dampers for me and where to get them, prefer to buy in uk but if there is better elsewhere i would order in.
Also what size tyres can i go upto, mine is the sport with 16's as standard??

Thanks all you clued up type..

Unless you'r wanting a lift I'd suggest leaving the springs as is, there aren't any after market torsion bars that I'm aware of and the rear springs don't seem to give any real trouble especially not on a truck as young as yours. Shockers wise have a look in the downloads for the explorer pro-comp price lsit, we get a substantial discount as members. Might be worth looking to check if your front springs have sagged a bit with time, if they have its an easy job to adjust them till the ride height is correct.

In imperial measurements the largest tyres that can practically be fitted are 31/10.5s but for those you may need to fit wheel spacers and/or trim the bumper/mud flaps.

What size do they fit as standard on 16" wheels?

So thats the equivalent of a 29/9.25

Best I can work it the nearest to a 31/10/16 is a 255/75/16 if such a thing is available.

I've got 30/9.5s on and before my lift they were about as big as I could get on but others have got 31s on depends on the real size of the tyre not what the manufacturers reckon I think. Remoulds are notorious for being optimistically sized. To get something the same size as mine would work out as 235/75/16.

Whats the standard on 15" rims? as both mav and T2 I know have 30/9.5s.

Humming bird how do you convert the sizes?

Std on a 15" wheel is 235/75/15.

I do all the maths manually but there are converters out there on the net, they've been linked to before on here.

ok going to look at the rear bars tonight at work and will see if the fronts are easy to adjust, not sure how to see if they have dropped from standard ride height though.
Also I see you are LPG converted, I am too but have a problem with it cutting out at junctions when running on gas, any ideas???

Have to say not that up on the intricacies of LPG. I know mine is highly critical on water level in the rad. The vaporizer is actually slightly higher than the rad and so is the first thing to "not be full" of water if the level drops this means it can't vaporize the lpg and thus no fuel for the engine. Its just a heat exchanger plumbed into the heater circuit. Immediate cure is pour hoy water on it and top up rad.

If the truck is level the centre section of the sills will look level, most T2s and Mavs you see around are nose down due to the torsion bars sagging with age. Really easy to adjust, theres been a post really recently, with a link to the online manual, about it.

235/70/16 are the same as standard Land rover tyres, so theres plenty of options out there for pattern

ok like the idea of a 20mm lift allround from TBR would poss then fit 85's seems a good way to go for ground clearance. Gearing will be about 17% off though from landy guys i've spoke to seems to be a mod they do regular

With what size tyres - Landy guys talking out of their ...... as usual.

235/75/15 - diameter = 733.5mm

235/85/15 - diameter = 780.5mm

increase in gearing = 6.4%
