Discount could be arranged after all the help I have got here  We are in walking distance of a good pub and the beach loads of great walks on the pedders way dog heaven. Bird watchers would love it Thichwell rspb reserve all along this coast. How about a free weeks stay if you get my 4 wheel drive working

Hello Willow,

When your giving free weeks holiday remember who started the thread

I dont need electricity or anyhting fancy either!

We have some land we use for our horses and chickens that we like to stay on with the kids and have no facilities there at all, so have to take all our water, and run a small generator for a couple of hours in evenings to watch a film and charge the batteries.

best and worst caravan experiences

hi wendy.
we stay at East Runton (Wood Hill Park)although not been for a couple of years
all i need is amenity block ,hot showers, Electric hook up water, elsan point , and level ground helps , truck parking at the side of my caravan because my dogs sleep in the back.
and a view is always nice to wake up to .
i am form farming stock so feel right at home "down on the farm".
nice to see your parents are caravaners when are they getting a terrano/maverick. :p
i can recommend a good friendly club :p
rgdsiandouglas.
ps where are you (approx)

If only I had a caravan I'd bring my Choc Lab down to say hello but alas I'm between vans at the mo

BTW my worst exp in a van, I'd been to Whitby and had a wet week in August. with a soaking awning in the van there was a small valley on the way out of the site and sure enough I met white van man coming the other way. Me being the curtious victim I let him through, but i did manage to give him a little wave twice  . However doing a hill start with a heavy awning in a 16" Swift didn't really do the clutch much good in my 1.6 Primera. So the year after we bought the Terrano so that it never happened again.

My best exp, seeing my young kids having a great time in our second caravan.

Best caravan holiday I remember was when my Dad said come on kids lets get lost in the highlands of Scotland  and we spent 3 days way up in the highlands next to a loch fishing and running wild It felt so free and it was magical. Went swimming in a fresh water lagoon (Freezing cold) and our only company were sheep and the odd deer. We dined on trout we caught in the river wonder if you could do this now? Plank we too have a caravan in the field and in summer we spend more time in that than in the house. Lots of BBQ's whatching the animals  Ian we are at Holme-Next-Sea. Jim get a van your dog would love it  I will let you know how I get on with the caravan club. Happy caravanning

Best holiday as a kid ,was just down the road from you Willow at Thornham.Fishing in the small harbour and swimming in the sea.

Yes its great here for a day on the beach lots to chose from ,my daughter and I used to get the canoes out and explore the salt marshes and paddle over to scolthead island then have a picnic, great way to spend a day. Thornham is great for flounder fishing just paddle the harborough at low tide and flip them out with your hands
Worst moment caravaning was going down the motorway and a lorry over took us at speed and dragged the back end of the caravan round so we jack knifed how my father got us over to the hard shoulder none of us knew :!: :!: the traffic behind us slowed everyone down while my dad fought to keep control the lorry was long gone  Very scarry. 8O

worst experience our first van a cheapie decided to start leaking when we had just got into bed...damp night! needless to say few tubes of bnq silicone and a few months later it was gone abi award, second worst just bought our present vanroyce van and still had a pajero, van was pristine pajero was diesel and we brought it home via the lake district A roads the pajero was a little smoky one black van later the paj was on its way

best getting the troll to pull said van effortless cruising just have to watch the speedo have caught myself at 75 before now and a 2 week stay in devon this year awning barbeque lots of wine lots of corona, no phones no idiots no work no worrys just me n the wife having some quality time, great site good loos etc all for 16 quid a day what more could you ask.....

just had a another not so nice experience, neighbour come round to say
toe rags been in garden kicked fence down, caravan window open.

yep fence is fire wood, was old and rotten but a boundary before.

2 of 3 vans doors tried to be gemmied? dont know with what but
plenty of dried mud in frame area, locks held up so ripped full window
up on sprite split it in 2, left wide open but no thing missing dont even
appear to have climbed inside. moved ed pir sensor on flood light so
wont fire, tried to smash gates open, failed even thou only locked by
pound land chain and padlock.

thinking more vandalism than theft, late running mischief night maybe.

Public flogging then a day in the stocks for them...scum bags. OR make them drive a caravan for a week then they would really know the meaning of public humiliation!

Kids I guess, nevermind if they catch the little souls I'm sure there will be a do gooder to defend them and then take em to the seaside as a punishment. If they get taken to a theme park they know they have really been naughty.

was mending my fence this afternoon and they came back, chased 'em
out of next doors garden, were trashing her fish pond...broad day light!

then came back and marker penn'ed by garage door, tho dont know if
they know its mine or not. mrs shouted them off. then got some long
range pix. bobby been round got incident ref and number for local guy
that may identify em fingers crossed.

Why not introduce them to off roading when they catch them
Like take them out into the country miles from no where just on dusk and tell them to walk back, don't forget to give them a helping hand on the way
