THE BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONERS TOTAL YEARLY BENEFIT £6,000.... .

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS /REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN TOTAL YEARLY BENEFITS £29,900...

Makes you sick that the average pensioner has paid taxes and contributed to the growth of this country for the last 40 - 60 years....
SAD ISN'T IT.....
I am among the £6000 a year brigade!

This thread should be moderated out. The figures are not facts and its bringing out bigoted & racist views this website should be bigger than this.

Seem to have ruffled a few feathers with this one, so please be assured that this was not my intention - it was meant as a subject for light-hearted discussion (that was why I put it in the clubs' Virtual Pub) on what I still feel is an imbalance in this fine countries' system for the payment of benefits.
If I have offended anyone I apologise, and would agree that if it is felt that the thread should be removed then that is what should be done - I am quite happy to agree to that.

I guess I am a bit thin skinned as although I am white and have a Derby accent I am an immigrant and a naturalized British Citizen having come to the UK when I was 5 years of age. My mother would have been called an economic migrant as she fled war torn Austria and came to the UK as a single mother. She married a Brit and secured British Nationality through marriage she has never claimed benefit in her life.

I became a British Citizen when I was 12 years of age and am now a reitired Police Officer. i have never been unemployed or claimed any benefits. When I read BNP statements that immigrants should be sent back to where they were born it becomes clear to me that they have little concept of the number of immigrants like me.

Your thread isn't the problem here Bruce, not long ago we had spate of these type of threads that bought out the bigots who relished in causing trouble with them - so don't take it personally!

macabethiel - it makes me wonder where the bigots would stop, first generation immigrants? second generation? How long would it take to empty the entire country? considering we are all the descendent's of immigrants if you go back far enough. And no one ever considers the migration from the UK to the rest of the world over these years - Britain is a wonderful mix :thumb2

oops missed this one though nice self moderation guys.

opend it thinking delete delete, but for now wont.

lets keep it this way, then this is a good example of how
we reign it in.

note, the policy is delete and ask questions later if thread
could put club in a poor light.

members have been deleted too

I dont think the issue is immigrants as such, but more along the lines of what the government pays out to them as apposed to what it pays out to its own subjects. Every £ given to someone from out side of the country has to be deducted from what someone can be paid from inside the country and by that i don’t for one second mean a white Englishman, i mean someone who has worked here and put his tax contributions into the pot, whether he be white, black or green!

I look at it like this, the countries money reserve is like a bank account, you need to put money in to be able to get money out, its as simple as that.

macabethiel, full credit too you and your parents, you came here, made a life for your selves and paid in to the system, thats how it should be. The down side is some people dont want to pay into the system (And i know some English nationals that dont too) and they are the ones that should not get the help.

I also stress this is only my opinion and, as a British subject i am entitled too.

my own view is that i strongly suspect that this thread will go the same way as all the others with regard to race / immigration etc ....... of course i may be wrong , and i stand corrected if that is the case

That, Kamsin, was exactly the point I was trying to make, albeit rather badly. I would consider myself one of the most unbiased and tolerant persons around, but I get hot under the collar when people come into the country, or were born here, and contribute nothing to the system but expect the full raft of benefits available (and don't even get me started on the pregnant women who come here to have their babies on the NHS then return home!)

Just looking at some of the facts here. The OAP is shown as a benefit of £6,000 p.a. Well for what its worth the £6000 or so pension is not a benefit as everyone of pensionable age is entitled to a pension be they millionares or a member of the Royal family as it is not means tested and based on qualifying years only with a minimum income level. You can work full time or part time and you still get the pension. OK you get taxed at the basic rate on your earnings but you do not pay any NI contributions out of your wages.

If your savings are below £12k as a pesioner then you are entitled to pension credit a modest increase but you also you get a discount on your rates that is up to 80 %. Pretty sure you also get help with your rent if you are not in your own home. Additional help for heating such as the warmfront grants - enough in most cases to give you new central heating for free.

And then you quote Liam and say you like his comment of "800 years to get people like me out" make your mind up! :doh. You keep sitting on the fence! :augie LOL

Anyway, this is my last post on this subject as i think as some have already said, it could get nasty. We are a car club and not a political organisation after all.

I like Liams' comment because it was light-hearted and not meant to be taken seriously (I hope!) - lighten up!
