hi all,
this weekends project is to replace alternator, power steering and a/c belts on my 54 plate 2.7SE
is this a straight forward task, alternator and power steering look easy enough but any handy tips for the a/c belt would be appreciated :thumbs

A/C same as for other belts once you slacken off the alternator and power steering pump all three belts will come off...:thumbs

Keep the old belts as spares, I keep mine in the jack compartment.
In fact my spares are now 19 years old, ie, the originals, it just goes to show they seem to last forever.:thumb2

Provided that the tension is right...:bow

Mine is the Td, no air con, and both belts are identical.
Best to change all belts at the same time, and re-tension after a few hundred miles.

It's engine oil on them that kills them.:doh

Thanks for the reply.
Do you know how the a/c belt tensions?

ah yes, there is a tensioner for the A/C belt - its directly below the alternator belt - shine a torch in there and you will see the adjusting nut for the pulley.

all done and not before time either :thumbs

next job tappets
