Is there such a thing? :nenau

I struggle to get up in the mornings when it becomes dark, my body doesent enjoy it :lol

My plan is to buy a lamp with a timer

Anybody know of one? Ta

Years ago (1960's) West clock sold an electric clock, that when it went off, it flashed a light for a minute, before the alarm went off, but you always got up before that.

The marketing at the time was... " Who can sleep with the blinking light on"

I still have a blue one and a white one in the loft somewhere from that era...:doh

I do keep some stuff...:doh(wife calls it junk)...

Or a Time switch plus lamp as mentioned... simple.
That way you could also have a radio on.
Or buy an old fashioned Teasmade... Still have one of those in the loft too..:doh

Over the next year, we are making an effort to clear the loft of all this junk, some has moved house three times, from one loft to another... fine as the houses are getting bigger, but our next move will be to down size, a few years yet though... we hope...

Use the funds to add to the pension pot lol...:thumb2

My wife has now recently retired, I was semi retired so I guess we are both classed as retired, but still a few years yet before we can get the Government handout that we have contributed to for many decades...
For the first time ever we can consider going on holiday out of term time at a third of the cost...:augie:augie

So I guess this timer plugs into the wall, and the lamp into itself?

I shall have a look! :thumb2

Wilko's , B&Q do them.
Mechanical ones are quick to set, but not accurate, and if you have a power cut, stop, and then restart from where they left off.

Electronic ones have a back up battery, so are fine with power cuts, BUT clearly if there is no power at the time of your alarm... sleep on...
They also need to be reset for British summer time etc,

Price...£3 - £10

Most plug into the wall, and have a 13 Amp socket on the front, however, some PSU plugs can foul on the timer, so make sure there is clearance.
Standard plugs fit in to all of them.

Teasmade . Simply the best gadget we ever had. Got one for a wedding present and 30 odd years later it still wakes us up with a brew :)
It's a bit like Trigger's broom now though , having had many light bulbs, gaskets and covers :lol

Get someone who is good at getting up to ring you:thumb2
I have to do this with one of the lads at work as he is crap at getting to work on time:lol:lol

I used to deliberately put the alarm clock out of arms reach so I had to get up to turn the bliddy annoying thing off
