Battery replacement

I suspect that I may have to replace the battery one of these days on my X Reg T2 2.7td.My questions are:

Will my alarm/immobiliser/locking reset itself once the new battery is fitted ?

It has the original Radio/tape combination and I do not have the code.It could be a NATS unit as that appears on the screen on startup.If not where would I find the radio serial number?Would I have to remove the radio.(Looks like a major task)

No idea, but use a set of jump leads to keep power to the car from the new battery

Good idea,thanks.With my luck though the clip will slip or something and I will be in the sh....! :doh

my Y plate Terrano was ok, i was allways disconnecting battery and radio code and everthing else was fine
