battery question

hi guys
my wifes terrano has only got one battery and i just wondered if that is the norm or should it have two like most 4x4. every 4x4 i have own has had two and just need to know as if it needs it i,ll get one this week. it is a 1995 diesel swb. any feed back would be great

All terrano's and mavericks only came with one battery, the only exceptios being the imported Nissan Mistrals and only some of those have 2.
