The most misunderstood item on a car, the battery, first of I would like to state, there is no such thing as a LEISURE battery, all so called leisure batteries are start batteries with a stupid label stuck on them, a so called leisure battery is supposed to be a DEEP CYCLE one that you can discharge completely to 50% of its capacity ie 100 amp hour =50 amp hour usable, and they say 500 cycles, well you just try it, there are two basic types of flooded cell lead acid battery start and full traction that is it, nothing in between, try breaking them apart as I have, hundreds of them, start/leisure =thin plates and lots of them designed to give a large amp out put for a very short time, traction designed to give a long sustained output to 80% discharge very thick plates and not so many, aside from gell bats and other variations, thats about it, Rick
